Welcome to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, proud volunteers with Seniors Diners Club for our district.

St. Paul’s Church, located on John Street on Cardinal, holds worship every Sunday with a coffee hour in the adjacent hall.  We have 3 Communion services each month, and one service of Family Morning Prayer with brunch following. The dress is casual -relaxed and the style of worship is prayerful.  Our music ranges from contemporary through excellent traditional hymns, led by our choir and musician Mary Kay Munnings.  A variety of outreach projects are ongoing and you can learn more about these from the front page of the web site.  St. Paul’s also has an Anglican Church Women’s group that is active, plus a choir for those who love to sing. There’s many opportunities to become involved!

No matter where you are on your journey of faith, we would be honoured to have you join us at St. Paul’s Cardinal.  More pictures of our parish are available on Facebook: All Saints Anglican Parish, Prescott, ON.

A Short History:

The Anglican Church came to the Cardinal area in 1828. Richard Duncan Fraser, the son of Loyalists, donated a parcel of land 1 mile east of the present village to build a church and cemetery. That St. Paul’s cemetery is still in use today.  The church, built of local field stone was erected in 1833 under Rev. J.G. Weagant a former Lutheran.  With the advent of the Benson Starch Co the village started to grow and it was decided to build a new St. Paul’s Church in Cardinal.  This new church was built in 1872 and the older church demolished. The parish today forms the eastern boundary of the Diocese of Ontario.

Youth and Children:

We offer youth group every Tuesday at St. John’s Hall in Prescott; this is a youth group with kids from the wider region, run by the Youth for Christ worker Johanna Freer.  613-802-4222.  Children and youth are very welcome to worship where they can learn to take part with their families, AND busy bags are always available to use in church.

St. Paul’s has a new Summer Lunch club PLUS children’s choir who perform at their family morning prayer one Sunday a month.
